WELCOME TO MY PAGE, ABOUT ME AND HAIR

Firstly I would like to welcome you, to my web page, of which I hope you find helpful. Thank you for visiting.

I am Rhonda, married to Richard of 12 years, with two fantastic children, Jessica age 11 and Harry age 9. I am 35 years young, and have been in the hairdressing trade for 19 years. I grew up with the trade, thanks to my mum and it has always been a passion of mine. I became manageress of a top salon for some years, and then decided to go mobile. Of which I must say, I enjoy immensely. It is much more on a personal level for both the client and myself, and it gives you the individual attention.  I am a lively girl, bubbly and friendly personality with lots of drive and ambition when involving my hairdressing career.

I have completed all my City and Guilds exams with the highest levels. I also went on to do advance courses to keep up with the modern day change in hairstyles, and products. I attended Morris Master Class School of Hairdressing, Tottenham Court Road, London, of which I took my advanced cutting course. I also went to Clynol school, and completed advanced courses in permanent waving and colouring.

Throughout my years, I have also entered endless hairdressing competitions of which I thrive on. I have always been highly placed.

My Hairdressing business at present.

I am one of those fortunate people who actually enjoys going to work, each day is a challenge, something exciting for me. I am very lucky having a superb age range of clients, and I treat every individual person as unique. I have had a successful, full and part time business throughout my years of mobile hairdressing. Having my 2 children, I limited myself to part time hours, so I could concentrate on their upbringing.

They are now both at school, settled in well, and I have a few extra hours in my weeks where I can gradually expand my clientele again.

As a very motivated, creative professional hairstylist I look forward to providing you with the highest hair care, style, treatment, or even solutions to any problems you may have and achieve tangible results with originality and flair. I will provide you/ your family/ your friends with the highest quality service, yet extremely friendly.

Hair for the lady.

We all know how important hair is, its our most noticeable feminine feature. If a woman's hair looks good, she feels great!! A beautiful hairstyle will surely make you feel confident, and it may help you find more joy in life.

There is no one hairstyle or colour that will work for every woman, but there is a look that is just right for you. So the overall goal is not just to be more beautiful, but more confident and comfortable with who you are. As a hairstylist, my goal is to achieve the result just for you, whilst helping you to feel relaxed and comfortable at the same time. I am at my happiest when I help my client choose the right style, colour, or perm for her, and then achieve an excellent result.

So allow me to invite you to sample my skills and knowledge of hairstyling. All to be created  in the comfort of your own surroundings and at your convenience.

Hair is a very important expression of who we are.

It is often the first thing you notice when you meet someone, especially if they have nice hair. Well-groomed, luxuriant, lustrous, hair is, quite simply, beautiful and sexy. It can signify youth, health, strength and vitality.

Many people don't feel right unless their hair looks perfect. If their hair looks good they feel great. Otherwise they say they are having a 'bad hair day'. This applies to men as well as women.

Hair reacts to our state of well being. This includes our physical, spiritual, and emotional bodies. Emotionally, if we are in balance, our hair grows and looks beautiful as a personification of of our inner self. Under stress many people have hair loss or their hair loses its texture and sheen.

WORKING WITH OUR HAIR

- Colour: The right colour accentuates one's aura - the person glows - Sometimes a few highlights can create the same illusion. - Many depressed people dye their hair black! - Perm or Straightening: It seems to be true that most curly-haired people like straight hair and vice versa. - Hair blowing: Used for style and held in place with hair spray - Curling irons - Gels of Mousse: Give the hair body and often shine -   Styling: This varies with the hair texture you have and the nature of your lifestyle - Accessories placed in your hair: Jewels, fancy pins and other ornaments

PHYSIOLOGY OF HAIR

On the average there are over one hundred thousand strands of hair on a young adult. Blondes average about 140,000 strands, brunettes average 108,000 and redheads average 90,000. Hair grows at a rate of about 150mm a year and each individual hair lasts for two to six years before it falls out, the follicle has a rest for a while, while another takes its place. Hair grows quickest in young adult women aged between sixteen and twenty-four (who are often then at the height of their possible reproductive capacity)

The quality and appearance of hair is influenced by overall health and diet as would be expected. Anorexics who starve themselves often have very fine, brittle hair deficient in various minerals. Hair conveys information about a person and their state of health-analysis of the hair can also tell what drugs they have taken. Long hair obviously suggests at least a recent history of good health.
